#331 - Corbin Goes 2:20 at Grandma's, Western States 100 + Paris Diamond League Recap, Mile WR Next Weekend?

On this episode, Chris had his good friend Corbin back on the pod to talk about his epic run at Grandma's Marathon + do a weekend recap on some of the major races of the past week!
Corbin had a great race at Grandma's, going out hard early and hanging on for a nice PR of 2:20! We broke down the entire race weekend and went through Corbin's splits on Strava on the pod.
The two main running events we focused on were the Paris Diamond League and Western States 100 Miler. The Paris DL was epic, with a Grant Fisher win, Cam Myers running 3:28, plus the women's 800 WR almost falling! Corbin predicted the mile WR is going down at Pre Classic this coming weekend!
Western States was epic as well! We had two course records on a day with really good conditions and also saw some major favorites fall apart. We both agreed that Western States is fun to watch as marathoners because it is a very runnable ultra, the men's winner averaged around 8:15/mi!
